| As we get ready
to teach our children the ABCs of Life, it’s important that we first
develop our own skills. The ABCs of Life begin with training for all teaching
and professional staff on the Art of Teaching because teaching technique
is critical to Lesson One’s success. While teachers are trying their
best, they were not always thoroughly trained to address the off task behavior
and lack of self-control that is prominent among today’s children. Lesson One has used thirty years of teaching and training experience and observation of teachers, administrators, parents, guardians, and others from around the country to identify the core techniques and best practices exhibited by successful teachers. In the Art of Teaching, we talk about the impact that positive communication can have on children. We help participants learn how their voice and body language are important tools that help provide consistency and structure when working with children. We also discuss ways to help children internalize the ABCs of Life so that they can take ownership of the skills and apply them, no matter what situation they are in. The Art of Teaching gives teachers empowering techniques for creating a supportive, consistent and structured classroom environment in which teachers can focus on teaching and their students can focus on learning. Teachers come away from this training with an understanding of how to teach their students the ABCs of Life with guidance from caring adults. |
